Diagnostic Solutions

Common Hardware Failures

The Switch is highly portable, making it susceptible to drops, spills, and worn-out ports. Our master microsoldering technicians handle complex logic board issues daily.

USB-C / Won't Dock

If your console charges but won't output video to the TV, the internal P13USB video chip or the USB-C port is damaged. We micro-solder brand new components to the logic board.

Joy-Con Rails & Drift

Are the controllers sliding off the side of the console? Do characters move on their own? We fix analog stick drift and replace damaged aluminum sensor rails on the console body.

Cracked Screens

The original Switch has a plastic digitizer over an LCD. Whether your outer touchscreen is scratched or your inner LCD is bleeding colors and lines, we can safely replace either layer.

Water Damage & BSOD

A solid blue screen means the CPU has disconnected due to bending or drops. Spilled liquids cause shorts. Keep the console off and bring it to us for an advanced logic board diagnostic.

DATA LOG: FAQ

Will I lose my game save data during the repair?
No! Replacing hardware components like the screen, battery, or charging port does not erase your local save data. Games like Pokémon and Animal Crossing that do not support cloud backups are perfectly safe on your device's motherboard during our standard repair procedures.
Why is my Switch not charging or connecting to the TV dock?
This is extremely common. It is usually caused by physically damaged USB-C port pins, or a blown internal power management chip (specifically the M92T36 or P13USB video chip). Our micro-soldering experts desolder the dead chip/port and install a brand new component to completely restore dock functionality.
Do I need an appointment?
No appointments are strictly necessary. Just stop by Gadget Rehab in Seattle, and a technician will take it from there. Almost all of our Nintendo Switch repairs take less than 3 hours to complete.
